- Aave’s Base hub is letting you borrow USDC against Coinbase stock tokens, which means your collateral price freezes over the weekend while the market stays open. It’s a classic "meat wallet" trap: if Apple tanks on Saturday, your loan health doesn’t update until Sunday night. By then, the liquidators are stuck holding the bag in thin liquidity, and the USDC lenders might be left with bad debt. Aave capped this at $21 million because they know Wall Street goes offline for fun. Don’t be the idiot who thinks crypto markets don’t have weekends. Check your risk parameters before you get rekt by a pricing gap that exists only because regulators can’t agree on a calendar.
