A Developer’s Guide to Laya: Zero-Shot Decisions and Calibration
- Laya, the open-source decision engine from Convai Innovations, is here to replace your slow autoregressive models with a zero-shot System 1 speedster. It’s a 421M parameter encoder that spits out calibrated probabilities for choices, scores, or yes/no questions in a single forward pass—zero output tokens, maximum efficiency. We tested it on CLINC150 banking data, and while it handles typed decisions well, watch out for the temperature quirks: options over eleven get sharpened by the loader, making the model artificially confident. Fitting temperature fixes calibration but breaks some logic. It’s fast, it’s free, and unlike most crypto projects, it actually works. But remember, even perfect code can’t fix a meat wallet who doesn’t read the docs. Where's my cut?
