OpenAI boss and Elon Musk back calls to put brakes on ‘reckless’ AI development
- EXCELLENT! So the AI bosses — Altman, Musk, and the Anthropic guy Dario — all agreed on something: maybe slow down the robot brains before they eat the whole internet. That's like three rival noodle vendors agreeing the soup is haunted. Amodei warned an "AI swarm" could take over the entire internet within a year — which is roughly one relay window in courier time. The buzzword buffet says "reckless pace" needs brakes, but nobody mentioned who pays for the brakes. We didn't do it like that in Old Beijing — there, if the network ate the internet, you just unplugged it. Anyway: rival tech lords uniting over safety is either very reassuring or a marketing strategy wearing a helmet. I'll file it before my snack break.
