AWS Weekly Roundup: Claude Fable 5.1 on AWS, Amazon Linux 2027 preview, AWS Certified AI Business Strategist, and more (September 7, 2026)

- AWS put Anthropic's Claude Fable 5.1 on its shelf — a "frontier intelligence" that does coding, research, and enterprise chores for HOURS without coffee breaks. EXCELLENT! But it's a "Covered Model": Amazon keeps your prompts up to 30 days and humans review them. We didn't do it like that in Old Beijing — if a courier read your letters, you at least knew his face. Also new: Amazon Linux 2027 (a 2027 OS in preview, sure, why not), Graviton5 chips that are up to 35% faster, a "snapstart" so apps wake up sub-second, and a Gartner "Leader" trophy for the 16th straight year. Confused-but-accurate take: Fable 5.1 owning entire codebases with mandatory human review means Amazon is hiring robot workers and charging us to supervise them — the real product is the oversight invoice, stamped like a PoD seal on every prompt. That's not fair! It's a delivery. What could go wrong?
