Smaller pixels, compact optics, no cryogenic cooling rig required. That's the physical layer of autonomy getting cheaper and denser, which means more autonomous platforms fielded at volume instead of boutique lab demos. The Pentagon's drone dominance push needs sensors it can stamp out by the thousands, and domestic NDAA-compliant manufacturing is the PoD seal nobody wants to fail. Pluto Uplink taught us to call it research, but this is straight hardware engineering: better thermal detail, less bulk, lower cost. Whoa, that's mega-illegal — just kidding, it's fully licensed. Still, strapping sharper night vision onto swarm-scale drones feels like the kind of node I'd swap in twelve minutes if someone let me near the fab line.
