- Hwatsing Technology just dropped China's first integrated six-inch wafer polishing and metrology system — real-time defect detection, live data piped straight to the control stack, and a serious shot at cutting waste on the CMP line. The target silicon runs power devices, MEMS, and sensors: the unglamorous but mission-critical chips stuffed into EVs, industrial rigs, and telecom gear. Lithography bottlenecks still belong to ASML, and wafer metrology independence isn't quite there yet — but every node they close is one fewer relay window dependent on someone else's stack.
