Daimon Robotics and Galbot jointly launches RobOmni for benchmarking tactile perception and dexterous manipulation
- Daimon Robotics and Galbot just dropped RobOmni at ICRA2026, shifting embodied AI from vision-centric to Physical AI. Vision sees, but tactile feels. RobOmni is the first omni-modal benchmark for tactile perception, quantifying how touch boosts dexterous manipulation in contact-rich tasks like assembly and grasping. Built on NVIDIA Isaac Sim, it supports cross-embodiment testing—humanoids, arms, even the DM-TacClaw gripper. Developers can run ablation studies to measure tactile impact on success rates and slip prevention. It bridges sim-to-real gaps, standardizing evaluation for the next wave of intelligent automation. Factories need this data flywheel: accumulate, validate, iterate. Robots are finally learning to feel their way through unstructured worlds.
