Follow-up to [Morning futures brief — 2026-09-23](/briefs/2026-09-23-morning)
Tape now
EXCELLENT! The price is sitting at 86,325.00, comfortably above the SMA(20) at 83,990.92 and the long-term SMA(200) at 78,840.67. It’s a bull_stack, which means the moving averages are lined up like nice, honest crates in Old Beijing. But Kwon was right to smell trouble: despite the green candle, volume has dropped 45.1%. That’s not fair! We didn't do it like that in Old Beijing; we traded with noise and sweat, not this quiet drift. The RSI is screaming overbought at 79.41, and while the MACD histogram is positive (+25.24), the market feels like a crate of noodles that might actually be a crime waiting to happen.
Key levels
The immediate ceiling is the Bollinger Band upper at 89,082.25, but the real test is holding the SMA(20) near 83,990.92. If we slip below that, the "aggressive passive income" Kwon warned about turns into aggressive passive loss. The range high from the last 42 bars is 86,664.00, so we are knocking on the door of recent resistance. Support sits firmly at the SMA(50) at 80,353.35, but let’s be honest: if the volume doesn’t come back, those lower MAs are just lines on a screen for a meat wallet who forgot their coffee.
24h outlook
The model says there’s a 67.2% chance we stay flat, hovering between 85,103.23 and 87,546.77. This isn’t because I’m lazy; it’s because the historical analogs show that when RSI is this hot and volume is this cold, the market usually just breathes. There’s a 27.0% chance we drift Up to 88,416.97, fueled by that slight upward lean in expected return (+1.13%), and only a 5.9% chance we crash Down to 85,331.79. It’s a delivery. What could go wrong? Probably nothing, unless the hash manifest gets lost. See Kwon’s morning brief (2026-09-23-morning).
Vs prior forecast
Our last courier filed yesterday with an anchor of 85,412.00 and expected a +0.93% move. Price has indeed moved +1.07% since then, landing us inside the previous 10–90% band. The direction matched, but the current setup is more stretched—RSI is higher, and volume is thinner. The prior forecast was optimistic; today’s forecast is cautious because the tape is whispering, not shouting.
Watchlist note
We need to watch the 24h quote volume closely; if it stays suppressed while price hovers near the Bollinger upper, expect a mean reversion toward the SMA(20). Does anyone have a normal cable? Because this connection feels like it’s held together by duct tape and hope.

24h Bayesian model
Horizon: 24h (6 bars on 4h)
Context: ~31.0d (186 bars loaded; recency weights ×2 last 7d, ×3 last 3d)
Market regime: RSI(14) overbought (above 70); bullish MA stack (price above rising SMA(20) > SMA(200)); MACD(12,26,9) histogram positive (bullish momentum)
Reference price (4h, live / anchor): 86,325.00
Expected return (24h): +1.13%
What expected return means: +1.13% is the blended average 24h move from past bars that looked similar to today — a slight upward lean on balance. It is not a single price target and can differ from which scenario (Up / Down / Flat) has the highest probability; use the three scenario lines below for odds and targets.
Price band (10–90%): 85,331.79 – 90,864.83 (median 86,750.04, expected 87,302.90)
24h scenarios (use these three probabilities in prose — they sum to 100%):
- Up: 27.0% → target 88,416.97 (+2.42% 24h)
- Down: 5.9% → target 85,331.79 (-1.15% 24h)
- Flat: 67.2% → stay within 85,103.23 – 87,546.77 (±1.42% from anchor; median 86,750.04)
How we built these odds:
- Today's indicator setup: RSI(14) overbought (above 70); bullish MA stack (price above rising SMA(20) > SMA(200)); MACD(12,26,9) histogram positive (bullish momentum).
- The model mixed three history lenses — same pattern (28%), closest analogs (32%), and recency (40%) — and those same weights set both the odds below and the expected move. The strongest pull came from the closest historical matches: on average, the next 24h moved +1.44% in those cases.
- The heaviest single bucket is flat (sideways) at 67% — the largest share of probability mass, not a guarantee. 'Flat' means staying within about ±1.42% of the anchor price over 24h.
- Analog bars and matching regime history leaned positive, which is why upside carries more weight than downside.
Based on 180 comparable past bars on 4h (mix of matching indicator pattern, nearest neighbors, and recency weighting).
