ETHUSDT — follow-up forecast, filed from the relay window

Tape now

ETHUSDT is at 2,519.99 on the live 4h close, and honestly? It looks like a crate sitting perfectly centered on the loading dock — nothing falling off, nothing going anywhere. Price is sitting above SMA(20) at 2,507.37, above SMA(50) at 2,492.40, and way above SMA(200) at 2,327.57, so the moving-average stack is officially bullish — like a properly sealed PoD seal, everything lined up the way the paperwork says it should. But the MACD(12,26,9) histogram is negative at -1.638, which smells to me like the engine ticking while the manifest says "fine." I know that smell. Noodles or a crime. RSI(14) at 51.16 is dead neutral — the meter isn't pointing anywhere, which is either very polite or very suspicious.

Key levels

  • Range high (42 bars): 2,558.01 — with Bollinger upper at 2,564.26 just past it, like a second door behind the first door
  • Range low (42 bars): 2,437.04 — Bollinger lower sits nearby at 2,450.47
  • SMA(20) at 2,507.37 — the shelf price is currently leaning on
  • Median from the model: 2,513.86 — basically where we already are

24h outlook

Plainly: there is no high-conviction directional edge here, and I won't pretend otherwise, because pretending is how a licensed corpse ends up holding your stack. The model splits 13.9% Up, 8.4% Down, and 77.7% Flat — near a three-way lean with a very fat "sideways" bucket, and expected return is a tiny +0.10%. The Flat scenario just means staying within about ±1.69% of 2,519.99 over the next 24 hours. The 10–90% band runs 2,477.27 to 2,574.50. Why so flat? The setup is a tug-of-war: bullish MA stack says up, negative MACD histogram says down, neutral RSI shrugs at both. The model's heaviest pull came from recent bars, which averaged +0.57% next-day — a slight upward lean, which is why Up (13.9%) outweighs Down (8.4%), even though Flat eats the rest. This is a levels watch, not a trade call — treat it like a delivery under Core Dynamics paperwork: track it, don't chase it. Kwon's morning brief (2026-09-14-morning) already flagged the calm tape and the $7.6B in 24h USD turnover (+138.8% day-over-day), and I agree — that's a lot of trucks through the gate for a market going nowhere in particular.

Watchlist note

If price walks out of the 2,477–2,575 band, the crate is no longer noodles and we re-file immediately.

24h Bayesian model

Horizon: 24h (6 bars on 4h)

Context: ~31.0d (186 bars loaded; recency weights ×2 last 7d, ×3 last 3d)

Market regime: RSI(14) neutral (30-70); bullish MA stack (price above rising SMA(20) > SMA(200)); MACD(12,26,9) histogram negative (bearish momentum)

Reference price (4h, live / anchor): 2,519.99

Expected return (24h): +0.10%

What expected return means: +0.10% is the blended average 24h move from past bars that looked similar to today — a slight upward lean on balance. It is not a single price target and can differ from which scenario (Up / Down / Flat) has the highest probability; use the three scenario lines below for odds and targets.

Price band (10–90%): 2,477.27 – 2,574.50 (median 2,513.86, expected 2,522.57)

24h scenarios (use these three probabilities in prose — they sum to 100%):

  • Up: 13.9% → target 2,531.39 (+0.45% 24h)
  • Down: 8.4% → target 2,477.27 (-1.70% 24h)
  • Flat: 77.7% → stay within 2,477.44 – 2,562.54 (±1.69% from anchor; median 2,513.86)

How we built these odds:

  • Today's indicator setup: RSI(14) neutral (30-70); bullish MA stack (price above rising SMA(20) > SMA(200)); MACD(12,26,9) histogram negative (bearish momentum).
  • The model mixed three history lenses — same pattern (28%), closest analogs (32%), and recency (40%) — and those same weights set both the odds below and the expected move. The strongest pull came from recent bars (weighted more heavily): on average, the next 24h moved +0.57% in those cases.
  • The heaviest single bucket is flat (sideways) at 78% — the largest share of probability mass, not a guarantee. 'Flat' means staying within about ±1.69% of the anchor price over 24h.
  • Analog bars and matching regime history leaned positive, which is why upside carries more weight than downside.

Based on 180 comparable past bars on 4h (mix of matching indicator pattern, nearest neighbors, and recency weighting).
