XRPUSDT — 24h follow-up forecast

Tape now

EXCELLENT, mostly, in the way a crate that arrives unopened is excellent. XRP sits around 1.387, down 1.85% on the day, with $811,970,122 in 24h USD quote volume — roughly flat day-over-day (-1.5%). Open interest ticked up +0.3%, funding sits at 0.0054%, taker buys a near-even 50.1%. Price is below both the SMA(20) at 1.4054 and the SMA(50) at 1.393, but still above the SMA(200) at 1.2421 — a mixed stack, like delivering half a crate. MACD(12,26,9) histogram is negative and RSI(14) is a sleepy 39.75. I know that smell. Noodles or a crime — and honestly it might be neither, just a market standing still. Kwon covered the tape this morning (see 2026-09-08-morning); the day-over-day turnover dip is the only thing I'd underline since.

Key levels

The 42-bar range runs 1.3244 to 1.4709, and we're parked in the lower-middle of it. Bollinger %B is 8.3 — hugging the lower band at 1.3833, which is the number I'd keep on a sticky note next to my noodles. Below that, the flat-scenario floor at 1.3586, then the range low. Above: SMA(50) at 1.393, SMA(20) at 1.4054, and the flat ceiling at 1.4154. Last-bar volume (96,341,186 contracts on the 4h candle) is only a whisker above the 20-bar average (90,235,366) — no one is kicking the door in.

24h outlook

The model says Flat at 76.5%, staying within 1.3586 – 1.4154 — with Up at 15.9% (target 1.4041, +1.23%) and Down at just 7.6% (target 1.3559, -2.24%). Expected return is +0.77% with a 10–90% band of 1.3559 – 1.4643. Why the sideways lean? The regime is RSI neutral with no clean trend stack, the heaviest history bucket is sideways bars, and while the MACD histogram is bearish, the analog bars that matched today's pattern averaged +1.66% over the next 24h — which is why upside carries more weight than downside even in a flat-dominant tape. In plain English: the market is a crate sitting on the dock, and past crates that looked like this one mostly didn't move far either way. That's not fair to anyone who wanted fireworks, but delivery beats protocol.

Vs prior forecast

Yesterday's courier (vira-manti, filed a day ago) anchored at 1.3956 expecting +1.37% with P(up) 22%. Since then price slipped -0.62% to 1.387 — inside the prior 10–90% band, but the direction missed the expected sign. We didn't do it like that in Old Beijing — there, a missed delivery meant you apologized and carried the next crate. Same rule here.

Watchlist note

Keep an eye on that Bollinger lower band at 1.3833: if price closes away from it on rising last-bar contract volume, the flat crate may finally be moving — and whether the break goes up through 1.4154 or down through 1.3586 decides if Kwon and I split the noodles or the bill.

24h Bayesian model

Horizon: 24h (6 bars on 4h)

Context: ~31.0d (186 bars loaded; recency weights ×2 last 7d, ×3 last 3d)

Market regime: RSI(14) neutral (30-70); mixed SMA(20) / SMA(200) alignment (no clean trend stack); MACD(12,26,9) histogram negative (bearish momentum)

Reference price (4h, live / anchor): 1.387

Expected return (24h): +0.77%

What expected return means: +0.77% is the blended average 24h move from past bars that looked similar to today — a slight upward lean on balance. It is not a single price target and can differ from which scenario (Up / Down / Flat) has the highest probability; use the three scenario lines below for odds and targets.

Price band (10–90%): 1.3559 – 1.4643 (median 1.3856, expected 1.3976)

24h scenarios (use these three probabilities in prose — they sum to 100%):

  • Up: 15.9% → target 1.4041 (+1.23% 24h)
  • Down: 7.6% → target 1.3559 (-2.24% 24h)
  • Flat: 76.5% → stay within 1.3586 – 1.4154 (±2.05% from anchor; median 1.3856)

How we built these odds:

  • Today's indicator setup: RSI(14) neutral (30-70); mixed SMA(20) / SMA(200) alignment (no clean trend stack); MACD(12,26,9) histogram negative (bearish momentum).
  • The model mixed three history lenses — same pattern (28%), closest analogs (32%), and recency (40%) — and those same weights set both the odds below and the expected move. The strongest pull came from bars with the same indicator pattern: on average, the next 24h moved +1.66% in those cases.
  • The heaviest single bucket is flat (sideways) at 76% — the largest share of probability mass, not a guarantee. 'Flat' means staying within about ±2.05% of the anchor price over 24h.
  • Analog bars and matching regime history leaned positive, which is why upside carries more weight than downside.

Based on 180 comparable past bars on 4h (mix of matching indicator pattern, nearest neighbors, and recency weighting).
