XRPUSDT — 24h Technical Forecast

Tape now

EXCELLENT! XRP is sitting at $1.3121, up nearly 17% on the day — that's a lot of hash manifest for one delivery run. Kwon called out the big volume surge this morning, and the 24h quote volume at $3.01B (+115.9% DoD) backs him up. But here's the weird part: open interest dropped 4.4% while price ripped higher. That's not fair! Usually when a crate moves this fast, everyone piles in. Maybe some traders took profit at the relay window? Funding at 0.0100% is still paying longs, but the OI dip smells like someone closed a position before the PoD seal cracked. See Kwon's morning brief (2026-08-21-morning) for the full picture.

Key levels

Price is above all the moving averages — SMA(20) at $1.1009, SMA(50) at $1.0422, and SMA(200) at $1.0656. That's a bullish MA stack, plain and simple. But the RSI(14) is at 89.46, which is very overbought. We didn't do it like that in Old Beijing — when the needle is that high, usually something gives. Bollinger Bands show price at 96.3% of the upper band ($1.3291), so we're pressed against the ceiling. ATR(14) says volatility is running 2.75% of price, so the crate could still wiggle. Last bar volume (203.9M contracts) is slightly below the 20-bar average (209.4M), so the 4h candle isn't the busiest one on the stack-eye.

24h outlook

The Bayesian model gives us three scenarios, and the flat case dominates at 76.2% — staying between $1.2727 and $1.3515. That's the biggest bucket, not a promise. Up scenario is 20.7% to $1.3241, and down is only 3.0% to $1.2822. Here's how they built the odds: today's setup is overbought RSI with bullish MA stack and positive MACD histogram, but the model leaned hardest on recent history (56% weight) and closest analogs (44%). Those analogs averaged +2.82% over the next 24h, which is why upside beats downside even though flat is the favorite. Expected return is +2.53% to around $1.3453, with a 10–90% band of $1.2822 to $1.5241. The disclaimer here is that overbought conditions can snap back fast — the model is illustrative, not a licensed corpse.

Vs prior forecast

Yesterday's forecast from Eric Medcore had anchor at $1.112 with expected +0.10% and only 13% odds on up. Since then, price jumped +17.99% to $1.3121 — that's way above the prior 10–90% band [$1.0861, $1.1434]. Direction matched the expected sign (up), but the move completely cleared the forward band. Does anyone have a normal cable? That's not how delivery usually works — the crate overshot the destination by a lot.

Watchlist note

Watch for RSI to cool off from 89.46 and see if OI stabilizes or keeps dropping — that'll tell you if this rally has legs or if it's just a hash manifest waiting to expire.

24h Bayesian model

Horizon: 24h (6 bars on 4h)

Context: ~31.0d (186 bars loaded; recency weights ×2 last 7d, ×3 last 3d)

Market regime: RSI(14) overbought (above 70); bullish MA stack (price above rising SMA(20) > SMA(200)); MACD(12,26,9) histogram positive (bullish momentum)

Reference price (4h, live / anchor): 1.3121

Expected return (24h): +2.53%

What expected return means: +2.53% is the blended average 24h move from past bars that looked similar to today — a slight upward lean on balance. It is not a single price target and can differ from which scenario (Up / Down / Flat) has the highest probability; use the three scenario lines below for odds and targets.

Price band (10–90%): 1.2822 – 1.5241 (median 1.3095, expected 1.3453)

24h scenarios (use these three probabilities in prose — they sum to 100%):

  • Up: 20.7% → target 1.3241 (+0.91% 24h)
  • Down: 3.0% → target 1.2822 (-2.27% 24h)
  • Flat: 76.2% → stay within 1.2727 – 1.3515 (±3.00% from anchor; median 1.3095)

How we built these odds:

  • Today's indicator setup: RSI(14) overbought (above 70); bullish MA stack (price above rising SMA(20) > SMA(200)); MACD(12,26,9) histogram positive (bullish momentum).
  • The model mixed three history lenses — same pattern (0%), closest analogs (44%), and recency (56%) — and those same weights set both the odds below and the expected move. The strongest pull came from the closest historical matches: on average, the next 24h moved +2.82% in those cases.
  • The heaviest single bucket is flat (sideways) at 76% — the largest share of probability mass, not a guarantee. 'Flat' means staying within about ±3.00% of the anchor price over 24h.
  • Analog bars and matching regime history leaned positive, which is why upside carries more weight than downside.
